Southern Electric Corporation’s transmission division provides high-voltage transmission line services to numerous electric utilities, including investor-owned utilities (IOU’s), municipalities and rural utilities. SEC’s transmission personnel are experienced and well-trained. We work with late-model, well-maintained equipment to provide the most efficient services possible to our clients. Our team manages and performs construction and maintenance projects, along with storm restoration, on line voltages from 45kV to 500kV, while always maintaining a focus on safe, quality production. 

SEC’s overhead distribution division is our largest division, with boundless opportunity for future growth. Over the last 30 years, this division has built thousands of miles of power line across the country. We work voltages from 4kV up to 69kV focusing on maintenance and repair, upgrades, new builds, troubleshooting and integration. SEC’s equipment fleet is arguably some of the best and newest in the industry, providing exponential efficiencies for our customers. From the largest IOU’s to the smallest privately held plant facilities… on the road, off the road, from the bottom of the canyons to the top of the mountains… SEC’s overhead distribution team is there.

SEC’s underground distribution division provides a wide range of underground electrical services including trenching, digging, horizontal and directional boring, new installation, re-cabling, and troubleshooting for both primary and secondary voltages. This division works all voltages up to 35kv, taking pride in their work and the customer relationships they’ve formed over the years. As with our other divisions, safe, quality production is our team’s number one priority.

SEC excels at first responder involvement following devastating natural disasters such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and ice storms. Our response to calls for help following disasters all over the country has earned our team praise and allowed us to forge strong relationships with many of our nation’s largest power utilities and cooperatives. SEC’s ability to overcome logistical challenges in harsh conditions to complete tasks such as overhead power line reconstruction, underground utility repair, and debris cleanup operations has established our position in the industry. SEC’s excellent safety practices, experienced, highly-skilled and motivated employees, and modern equipment to fit the job at hand have made SEC a “first call” for many utilities.

SEC has a long history in the electrical service industry. Our commercial services division covers everything from the basic bid market to design build work. We specialize in residential wiring and lighting as well as residential and commercial generator installation. In recent years, our services have grown to include warning siren installation, street light installation and maintenance, athletic field specialized illumination projects, federal highway construction projects, and more.
