SEC’s Jeremy Bracewell Named Power Player for October
Southern Electric Corporation has named Jeremy Bracewell, of Daytona Beach, Florida, as its Power Player for the month of October. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.
Jeremy, a field safety representative for overhead and underground divisions in Florida, has worked in the powerline industry for 18 years. Jeremy joined SEC in 2017 to work storm restoration in Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria.
“Jeremy is relentless in ensuring the safety and well-being of all crews in his area and willing to do whatever it takes when called upon,” says Keith Kinchen, SEC Director of Human and Organizational Potential. “Jeremy delivers SEC’s safety message in a way that brings positive change, and I am certain he is aiding in reducing STKY incidents because of this.”
When asked about the best part of his job, Jeremy says it’s working with a good group of people and having the opportunity to teach and coach new linemen. “At the end of the day, it’s about making sure everybody stays safe so they can go home to their families,” he says. His least favorite part is being away from home so much. “I wish there was just a little more at-home time, but it’s part of the job.”
Jeremy is a proud father to three adult children – Breanne (26) a nurse, Hunter (25) a member of the U.S. Air Force, and Ashton (21) a football player at Florida State University. In his free time, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his children, going to watch his son play football, boating, riding his motorcycle, and hunting.
