SEC’s Foster Named Power Player for April
Southern Electric Corporation has named Clay Foster, the company’s Controller, as its Power Player recipient for the month of April. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.
Foster is celebrating his tenth year at SEC, currently handling all financial reporting and leading the Billing, Accounts Payable, and Information Technology departments. “Clay works hard at providing solid financial data and is a valuable player on the SEC team,” says Gary Blakeney, Chief Operating Officer.
Foster attended Mississippi State University and Mississippi College where he earned both Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Business Administration degrees and is currently working on obtaining his CPA license.
Foster says the best part of his job is the constant state of learning and the ever-changing daily challenges. Coincidentally, he adds his least favorite part is much the same. “The last year has been very challenging for me with all the changes since we were acquired by Quanta Services,” says Foster. “I’ve had to learn to do most every facet of my job in a different way. But in the end, we will be better for it.”
Jason Siegfried, Vice President of Operations adds, “Clay’s world has been extremely intense since the Quanta transaction. A lot of people lean on him for important information, and he has had to shoulder a heavy workload while drinking from a firehose from the integration effort.”
Foster and his wife, Amanda, live in Brandon, MS with their 3 children Sawyer (12), Gates (5), and Holt (2). When not at the office, Foster loves fishing, hunting, and watching his kids participate in their various activities.
