SEC recognized as premier vendor for Entergy for 2022

Southern Electric Corporation of Mississippi was recognized as one of Entergy’s 2022 premier vendors for its performance in the category of environmental, social, and governance. As part of a new Journeyman Lineman Training facility located on a 50-acre site in Flowood, Miss., SEC invested in the development of a Western Honeybee Apiary several years ago, managed by Donovan Guilbeau, Director of Human and Operational Performance and Naturalist for SEC. What started as one small hive is now 11 active Western Honeybee colonies, contributing to improvement in plant pollination in the local community that has seen deterioration due to the dwindling bee population in North America. All honey produced is given to various charitable organizations and supporters of SEC’s training facilities. “SEC’s core values include positive environmental education and giving back to the environment, environmental stewardship at its best,” said Guilbeau.
