SEC Names Potts Power Player for November

Southern Electric Corporation has named Allen Potts, of Bloomburg, TX, as its Power Player for the month of November. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.

Potts, a senior field mechanic, has been with SEC for 7 years and worked as a mechanic for nearly 30 years. He services the western half of SEC’s footprint, covering Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma. “Allen has always been a dedicated team member and never backs down from a challenge,” says Dillon Roberts, Vice President of Fleet Operations. “His work ethic, positive attitude and loyalty to SEC represent a true power player.”

Potts says the best part of his job is “always seeing and doing new things and never staying in one spot.” He adds his least favorite part is the paperwork. “I love the brotherhood here and working as a team to accomplish goals,” Potts adds. “I respect the men I work under. They treat you the way they’d want to be treated.”

When not working on SEC equipment, Potts runs a catering business, Rockin P Cajun Kitchen, and has served on the Bloomburg Volunteer Fire Department the last 15 years, beginning there by helping the department get their trucks up and running. He also enjoys hunting whenever he can get in the woods. Potts and his wife Kristy have been married for 9 years, and they have two children.
