Southern Electric Corporation has named Nicole Aucoin, accounting specialist, as its Power Player award recipient for the month of August. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.
Nicole is a Brandon, MS, native and Northwest Rankin graduate. She joined SEC almost four years ago as a receptionist and has done a little bit of everything in the office since then. Nicole now handles credit card reconciliation along with some payroll and billing. “Nicole is always eager to learn and grow professionally which is evidenced by her proactive approach to new challenges,” says Joann Sprayberry, SEC office manager. “She has also built a strong rapport with employees in the field, promoting collaboration and trust that enhances team dynamics and productivity.”
Nicole says the best part of her job is the people she gets to work with, both in the office and in the field. “SEC really is a family,” she says, “and I enjoy coming to work every day with them.” She says the only thing she doesn’t enjoy is the tight deadlines.
Prior to joining SEC, Nicole had started training to be a dental assistant. “I wasn’t sure if that was what I was meant to do so I prayed about it,” says Aucoin. “Soon after, I heard about a position open here. It’s been a great decision.”
Nicole, her husband Steven, and their two-and-a-half-year-old daughter live in Thomasville, MS. They love spending time outdoors hunting and fishing.
