SEC Launches New Substation Division, Appoints Duane Sistrunk as VP
Southern Electric Corporation (SEC), a Quanta Services company, is proud to announce the launch of its new Substation Division, a strategic expansion that strengthens the company’s commitment to delivering comprehensive electrical infrastructure solutions across its footprint. The new division will soon provide substation construction, maintenance, and related services throughout Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
As part of this exciting growth initiative, SEC is pleased to welcome Duane Sistrunk as Vice President of Substation Operations. With more than four decades of experience in the electric utility industry, Sistrunk brings exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and operational knowledge to the organization.
Sistrunk spent 33 years with Entergy, serving in a variety of leadership roles across utility operations, maintenance, and power delivery. Over the past 6 years, he has specialized in substation construction and operations, successfully leading complex substation and relay projects that support critical power infrastructure.
In his new role, Sistrunk will oversee SEC’s Substation Division, providing strategic leadership for large-scale power infrastructure projects while driving operational excellence, workforce development, safety initiatives, and client satisfaction. His focus will be on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that help strengthen and modernize the nation’s electrical grid.

Outside of work, Sistrunk enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and two grandchildren. Family remains a top priority, and he takes great pride in supporting his grandchildren’s activities and special events whenever possible.
