SEC Announces Promotion of Dillon Roberts to Chief Operating Officer

SEC is pleased to announce the promotion of Dillon Roberts to Chief Operating Officer, a milestone that reflects nearly two decades of dedication, leadership, and growth within the company.

Dillon’s journey with SEC began 17 years ago when he started as a truck washer in the fleet department, an entry-level position that laid the foundation for an exceptional career built on hard work and determination. From there, he quickly advanced to managing the laydown yard in Flowood, where his strong work ethic and attention to detail became evident.

Eager to broaden his skill set and deepen his understanding of SEC’s operations, Dillon transitioned into a mechanic role, working both in the field and in the shop. His hands-on experience and problem-solving abilities set him apart, leading to his promotion to Shop Manager in 2014. In 2017, Dillon was named Vice President of Fleet Operations, where he played a critical role in optimizing fleet performance, improving efficiency, and supporting SEC’s continued growth.

Throughout his career, Dillon has exemplified the qualities that define SEC’s culture – ambitious, resourceful, loyal, hardworking, and humble. His deep operational knowledge, combined with a genuine commitment to his team and the company’s mission, makes him uniquely qualified to serve as Chief Operating Officer.

“Through every challenge and opportunity, Dillon never stopped learning, growing, and leading by example,” said SEC President Blake Everett. “His rise from the wash bay to the executive team is a testament to what’s possible when dedication meets opportunity. It’s also a powerful reminder that in this company, every role matters, and every person has the potential to achieve greatness.”

Outside of work, Dillon is a devoted husband to his wife, Kayla, and a proud father to their three daughters. As a family, they enjoy rodeoing and traveling together – interests that reflect the same sense of passion, dedication, and adventure Dillon brings to both his personal life and his leadership at SEC.

“After 17 years with Southern Electric, I’m honored to step into the role of Chief Operating Officer,” said Roberts. “SEC has always been about its people, its safety culture, and doing the work the right way, and I’m excited to continue to support our teams as we move forward together.”

As Chief Operating Officer, Dillon will oversee day-to-day operations and continue to power SEC forward through operational excellence, innovation, and a people-first approach. “Dillon embodies the spirit of our organization,” adds Everett, “and I couldn’t be more excited to see him take on this role.”
