Southern Electric Corporation of Mississippi, a Quanta Services company, is proud to announce the promotion of Blake Everett to President, effective immediately. This significant appointment is a testament to Everett’s dedication, expertise and unwavering commitment to SEC, as well as his remarkable journey from electrician to now president over the past 16 years.
Everett joined SEC in 2009 as an electrician, bringing with him a strong work ethic and passion for excellence. With this, he quickly worked his way through the ranks to underground distribution crew foreman before being identified for his management potential. Everett then took on project manager and auditor roles before being promoted to field operations manager and ultimately director of operations for the company. Throughout his tenure, he has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, technical knowledge of the industry, and a deep understanding of SEC’s operations which has played a pivotal role in driving innovation and enhancing productivity across the company.

This promotion comes on the heels of the acquisition of SEC by Quanta Services in January 2023 and former owners Steve Weaver, President, and Ken Blakeney, Vice President, stepping into more of an advisory role for the company. As President, Everett will focus on enhancing current customer relationships as well as venturing into new areas of innovation, ensuring SEC remains at the forefront of the industry.

Everett and his wife, Brooke, reside in Brandon, MS with their 9-year-old son, Whit. Everett’s passion is hunting and enjoying the outdoors, which he tries to do as much as work will allow.
