Ross Named SEC Power Player for July

Southern Electric Corporation has named Seth Ross, of Greers Ferry, AR, as its Power Player for the month of July. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.

Ross, a lead field safety representative, has been with SEC for 5 years. He got his start in the industry 27 years ago, working his way up to crew foreman, then moving over to the safety side when he hired on with SEC in 2019. Ross is C.O.S.S. certified and currently supports SEC’s operations in Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Ross says the best part of his job is playing a part in seeing everyone go home safely. “In my 20 plus years in the field, I never had an injury, flash, or major incident on my crew,” said Ross. “I’m proud of that and proud to do a job that helps keep my brothers safe still today.” The worst part, he says, is all the driving.

“Seth leads both in the field and in his daily life and is a man of character and strong moral fiber,” says Keith Kinchen, SEC’s Director of Human and Organizational Performance. “He doesn’t just talk the talk, he walks the walk and is well respected because of it.”

Ross is also an ordained minister, having received the call to the ministry about 10 years ago. He preaches at his home church and various others around the area when he is able.

Ross and his wife of 22 years live on their farm near Greers Ferry with their two teenage daughters. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time on the lake, working on the family farm, and attending their kids’ sporting events.

“Keith, Donovan, and the rest of the leadership of SEC keep me here,” Ross adds. “It’s just a different environment here and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be.”
