Callaway Named SEC’s Power Player for September

Southern Electric Corporation has named Cassi Callaway, billing specialist, as its Power Player award recipient for the month of September. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.

Callaway has been with SEC for eight years, hired as a receptionist in 2016. She quickly proved herself and shifted to the estimating administrative assistant position and then to the billing department. “Cassi is a super hard worker that carries a huge amount of billing for SEC,” says Clay Foster, controller for SEC and billing department supervisor. “I can’t say enough about how hard she works and the load she carries month in and month out.”

Callaway assists with invoicing for baseload distribution crews, storm restoration, and bid jobs as well as handling all billing for SEC’s service department.

Callaway says the best part of her job is the people. “My co-workers have really become my family,” she says. “I also love my job because there’s always something new. I love multi-tasking, so I’m never bored,” Callaway adds. When asked about her least favorite part? “Some days are better than others,” she says. “But I really love what I do even on the bad days.”

“Cassi is a true asset to our team,” adds Greg Mullins, SEC Superintendent. “Our customers hold her in high regard and consistently notice her exceptional work ethic and dedication.”

Callaway is a newlywed, marrying her long-time boyfriend Joey Hill last month. They live in Terry, MS with their two fur babies. In her free time, Callaway can be found helping with animal rescues or taking care of her family. She also loves shopping, painting and binge-watching reality TV.
