Jimmie Walters Named SEC Power Player for Q2 2026
Southern Electric Corporation (SEC) has named Jimmie Walters, of Cushing, Oklahoma, as its Power Player for the second quarter of 2026.
A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing us to Power Forward.
Jimmie, a Superintendent for SEC, has been with the company for four years and brings nearly 40 years of industry experience to the role. His career in the powerline industry began working on transmission lines alongside his father. Powerline work has truly been a family tradition, as his father and both of his brothers have also built careers in the industry.
After retiring from Oklahoma Gas & Electric, Jimmie was recruited to join SEC, where he has helped build and develop teams across Oklahoma.
“SEC is a great company, and I like the challenge of growing a great team in Oklahoma and fostering a love of the industry in these guys,” Jimmie said.
For Jimmie, the most rewarding part of his job is teaching and mentoring others. He takes great pride in helping younger employees develop their skills and gain an appreciation for the trade that has provided so much for him and his family over the years.
One of the biggest challenges he faces is retaining talented team members after investing significant time and effort into their development. Despite those challenges, Jimmie remains committed to helping employees succeed and building a strong workforce for the future.
“Jimmie is the best lineman and person I have had the privilege to learn from and work with,” said Greg Mullins, SEC Director of Operations. “His transparency and immense value to our success cannot be overstated.”
Reflecting on his career, Jimmie is grateful for the opportunities the industry has provided.
“I have 40 years in this trade and am grateful for the life it has allowed me to live,” he said. “Yes, I missed a lot of birthdays and holidays, but I always took the time to make up for them. SEC is a great company with great people, and I’m happy to be a part of the team we have in Oklahoma.”
Jimmie and his wife, Pam, have been married for 36 years. Together they have two daughters and four grandchildren. Family time is a priority, and they enjoy attending ball games, taking beach vacations, and spending time at the lake with their children and grandchildren. When he’s not working, Jimmie enjoys traveling to the mountains of Colorado, where he and his friends spend time riding side-by-sides through the Rockies. He is also an avid quail hunter and enjoys working his hunting dogs.
