SEC Names Basham Power Player for June

Southern Electric Corporation has named Jordan Basham, of Caledonia, MS, as its Power Player for the month of June. A Power Player is someone with integrity and high moral standards, possessing strong leadership qualities, a track record of safe production, and dedication to our company and industry, who is hard-working and represents SEC well in everything that they do, allowing SEC to Power Forward.

Basham, a field safety representative for overhead and underground divisions in Mississippi, has worked in the powerline industry 13 years. Basham joined SEC five years ago as a lead lineman, quickly moving up to foreman before joining the safety department. “I enjoy working here,” says Basham. “We have great management, room for growth, top-notch equipment, and excellent crews.”

“Jordan exemplifies the qualities and characteristics of what is expected of a true power player,” says Keith Kinchen, SEC Director of Human and Organizational Performance. “Jordan continues to work accident- and incident-free while exhibiting a can-do attitude, not only with SEC crews but also with the customers he deals with on a daily basis.”

When asked what the best part of his job is, Basham says it’s traveling and interacting with the crews and customers. “I just like being able to help people through training new guys and teaching the ones who have been around longer different ways to do things,” he says. His least favorite part is dealing with problems.

In his free time, Basham enjoys spending time with his two teenage children, hunting, fishing, traveling and trail riding.
