Southern Electric Corporation (SEC), a Quanta Services company, is pleased to announce the promotion of Mike Shaw to Vice President of Fleet Operations.
Shaw joined SEC in October 2025 as Fleet Manager, bringing with him more than 16 years of experience in the heavy equipment and utility industries. His career began in 2005 working on heavy equipment, followed by a role with Altec in 2010, where he operated a mobile service truck throughout the Southeast. In 2022, he joined Entergy, initially serving in a field service role before transitioning into management in 2024.
A graduate of Hinds Community College, Shaw earned a technical degree in Diesel Equipment Technology in 2006. His professional relationship with SEC, however, began long before he officially joined the company. While working for Altec, Shaw serviced SEC equipment and developed strong relationships with the company’s employees and leadership. Over time, SEC became one of his largest customers, and those early connections ultimately led him to join the team.
“Coming to SEC has been the best career move I have made. From the very beginning, it has been a breath of fresh air working alongside such a wonderful group of people,” says Shaw. “I had built relationships here years ago but never imagined they would eventually lead me to where I am today. I am grateful for the opportunity and truly feel like I have found a place to call home. I look forward to what the future holds for SEC and am excited to be a part of it.”
In his new role, Shaw will continue to provide leadership and strategic direction for SEC’s fleet operations, helping support the company’s continued growth, operational efficiency, and commitment to maintaining a dependable, well-equipped fleet.

Shaw and his wife, Courtney, have been married for nearly 19 years and have two children, Patrick and Maddie. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, particularly fishing, boating, hunting, hiking, and cooking together.
